Finding the perfect plus-one or basically anyone for familial nuptials can be challenging for singletons. Even more so if a bring-a-date ultimatum is given by the bride-to-be.
Dave and Mike, twenty-something NYC brothers were instructed by their cousin, the bride, to bring dates to her upcoming Saratoga wedding. The bride’s mandatory bring-a-date request was to prevent the brother’s previous bad behavior. The bride stated;  “don’t harass all of my friends all night” and “to stay under controlâ€. Being Girlfriend-challenged, the brothers opted for a creative solution to crowd-source the perfect wedding date on Craig’s List.
Interested ladies should note the brothers have very attractive qualities such as; completely house trained, have cool hair and have seen Love Actually several times. Potential date responders requirements include: “You should be attractive or our aunts will judge you, but not TOO attractive or one of our uncles might grope you.†They even offer: “Royalties once our night’s story is developed into a romantic comedyâ€. To date, the brothers have had 1,800 adventure-seeking responders, including a power-point presentation.
Dear Craig’s List, consider creating a new section: women/men seeking a wedding date, thus eliminating the pressures of the “plus-oneâ€.
Have you ever been wedding date challenged?
